Privacy notice

What this website collects, why, where it is kept and for how long. Written in plain English because that is how we would want to read it.

Who is responsible

Seren Surveying Ltd is the data controller. Company number 15110009, registered office 16 Polkerris, Par, Cornwall PL24 2TL. Questions about your data go to [email protected] or 07435 121700.

The enquiry form

When you send the form we collect what you type: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, what kind of owner or professional you are, a postcode if you give it, your message, and, if you ran the EPC register check before sending, the homes you ticked (their addresses, ratings, dates and heating as the register shows them). We also record the time, the page the form was on, and the country the request came from. We use these details only to reply to you and to deal with your enquiry. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not share your details with anyone else, apart from the service providers below who store or deliver them for us.

Each enquiry is stored in a database on Cloudflare's infrastructure, located in the UK or the EU, and an email copy is sent to Matt through Postmark, an email delivery service. We delete enquiries twelve months after we receive them, unless the enquiry becomes a job, in which case the details become part of the job file and are kept for as long as we need them for that work and our records.

The EPC register check

The postcode check on the home and landlords pages looks up the public Energy Performance Certificate register, which is published by the government. The postcodes you enter are sent to that register to fetch the results. Nothing you see or tick is stored by us unless you then send it to Matt through the form. The register's own privacy terms apply to the data it publishes.

The portfolio snapshot and report

If you ask for the free snapshot or buy the full report, we collect your name and email address, the homes you ticked (as the register describes them) and, for the report, the fact and amount of the payment. The report is built from the public EPC register and emailed to you through Postmark; the order is stored on Cloudflare in the UK or the EU so that you can download the report again from the link in the email. Each order is also logged as an enquiry so that Matt can follow up. Orders are kept for twelve months, then deleted, unless they become a job.

Card payments are taken by Stripe on Stripe's own pages. We never see or store your card details; Stripe sends us only the fact that the payment was made, the amount and the email address you gave. Stripe's privacy policy applies to the payment itself.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Visitor numbers are measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not identify individuals, which is why there is no cookie banner.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will deal with it. If you are not happy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
